My Study Essentials

I always pray and believe that God will answer my prayers before I revise.  Prayer is the most important thing in my study essentials. If you are struggling with your studies right now, remember James 1:5 which says 'If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you'.

I also read a quote from this blog which says 'GOD IS WAITING FOR THE CHANCE TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS AND FULFIL YOU DREAMS, JUST AS HE ALWAYS HAS. BUT HE CAN'T IF YOU DON'T PRAY AND HE CAN'T IF YOU DON'T DREAM. IN SHORT, HE CAN'T IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE'.

What you sow is what you reap',they said.

Hello, my daisies! Happy Thursday. Starting today, I'm going to try and focus at least 3-4 hours revision a day. I only have 54 days 'til  my last exam which means I will be closing another chapter of my life story. I am currently still waiting for a reply from Queen's University. I am hoping and praying to get a place as applied for Nursing and there are about 2000 applicants and only 200 people will get a place. That is only 10% but I'm staying positive and optimistic.

Anyway, this post is about what I do and what equipments I use when I'm revising. I have to admit I procrastinate a lot which is not very good. Euugh! The joys of revision.

I am the person who can't sit and revise for hours so I usually get at least 45 minutes break or longer ;) I am also the type of person who opens the book and suddenly dies. Haha! I mean, not literally die but you know what I mean?!

So here it goes:
This is my pencil case and it is full of mixed items such as coloured pens, ink pens, marker,   small ruler, rubber and pencils.

On my study desk, I always have post it/sticky notes.

Coffee is what keeps me going! Food is optional as I can't concentrate when I revise and eat. If I eat during revision, my focus would divert from revision to the toothsome taste of the food, then, I would imagine sliding on rainbows and land on unicorn land. Haha! But seriously, though. I can't have food beside me when I'm revising because I'm weird like that. I got this mug from Ireland last year during our summer camp.

Who can study without these babies? I mean, they don't necessarily have to be these Stabilo Boss ones but just a normal highlighter/marker. I would put my hands down because markers just make my life easier and make it makes my page look alluring and colourful which motivates me to do revise .  Here, I am using the Stabilo Boss little markers in pink and orange, Sharpie in colour pink, and Pentel in fluorescent yellow.

When making revision notes, these coloured fine liners are big help. I have other different colours but I tried to minimise the use of different colours because I believe less is more. Ehhh? :P Here,  I am using the Staedler Triplus Fine Liner Dry Safe in colours brown, orange and pink and Stabilo Point 88 in colours red, purple and pink. I have to be honest I prefer the Staedler ones because it makes my writing look nicer but they both work great as the tips are 0.4mm. :) You can get these Staedler Fineliner here and these Stabilo Fineliner here.

I also use ball point pens and ink pens. Here I am using Pentel 0.7mm in the colours blue and black, Uni-ball Gel Grip in black and Pentel 0.7mm ball metal point in black.

This is just an example of my revision notes. I don't usually use highlighters in my revision notes, just in my handouts and books.

These eyeglasses are my best buddy as I have a very bad vision. I can't live without these! This is just a normal glasses from Specsavers.

There are moments when I can work in utter silence and there are also moments when I need music to keep me motivated. Revision is boring so I keep music in my study essentials. I usually just use Spotify, go to Browse and play random playlist. I like listening to songs that I'm not familiar with as If I  know the song I would end up singing which is not good in 2 cases firstly because It's a distraction and secondly, I am terrible at singing :P

And then there's my potato face pretending to revise. I hardly study on my study desk. I usually revise in bed and I have to tell you this, most of my duvet covers are covered stained with my pens or markers :P I actually look pregnant in this photo but that's just my hoodie :(

I know that exams are stressful but I believe that I know that I can do all thing through Christ who gives me strength.

Being passionate about your dreams will make you successful and your motivation, dedication and determination will keep you on track.

Stay focused, stay faithful, stay kind.

Take care.
xoxo, Xyza
